A professionally installed epoxy or resinous floor is extremely durable, resisting impact, abrasion, chemicals, and stains. Residential garage floors commonly last 10 to 20 years, while commercial and industrial floors typically last 5 to 15 years depending on traffic and use before a recoat is needed. The single biggest factor in longevity is proper surface preparation, which is why we never skip it.

Cure times depend on the system and conditions, but most epoxy floors are ready for light foot traffic within 24 hours and full foot traffic within 24 to 48 hours. Vehicle traffic is generally safe after 3 to 5 days once the coating reaches full chemical cure. If minimizing downtime is critical, we can recommend faster-curing polyaspartic systems that allow a one-day turnaround in many cases.

Surface prep is the most important step in any coating project, and the majority of coating failures trace back to poor or skipped preparation. We mechanically profile the concrete using diamond grinding or shot blasting to open the surface, remove contaminants, and create the proper bonding profile. This mechanical bond — not paint or adhesive — is what makes the floor last. We never simply acid-etch and hope for the best.

Yes. Concrete is porous, and moisture vapor can rise through the slab and cause bubbling, blistering, or delamination under a non-breathable coating. When conditions warrant, we perform moisture testing and, if needed, apply a moisture-mitigation primer before installing the system. This protects your investment and prevents premature failure — especially important in our humid Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida climate.
